Best Toothpaste, Worst cap!
Motu
Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks so.. but I would agree with previous comments that this is definitely the best toothpaste with the cap that won't close so that the toothpaste just dribbles all over our drawer and makes a huge mess. Please change the cap!! Even the regular screw on type would be better!

Best product I've ever tied and thats no lie

Such a great product and only after 2 weeks of using it I see and feel dramatic changes. I love the taste of this paste as well. My gums have changed to a much lighter shade of pink and they look healthier than they have in years even with regular brushing with other products including other crest pastes. Teeth are getting whiter which is always a plus. I am excited to see further improvements as I continue to use this product every day.

Good product ... not so good lid on the tube.
Katy
I recently purchased a tube of Pro-Health toothpaste. I like the toothpaste just fine, but the lid doesn't close completely and I have a mess every time I use it.
When I hold on to the tube to close the lid, the toothpaste squirts out. I wipe off the excess and try to close the lid without pressing down - to eliminate the mess, but it is nearly impossible.
I won't purchase this again unless I can find some with a plain old screw on top!

Glad you liked the toothpaste, but sorry you had trouble with the cap. We have done extensive testing on our packages and wouldn't expect this to happen. Still, we'd like to help, so give us a call at (800) 492-7378 when you have a chance.

Sorry to hear you don't like the cap on the Crest Gum Protection Toothpaste. You may want to try using this as a screw on cap which may help. If you have further questions, give us a call at (800) 492-7378. Thanks!

Great Product - Terrible Cap!
kp1993
I have been a dedicated Crest user, but the cap is terrible! After using the product the cap does not close completely because it's so messy. Then it causes a mess in my cabinet. I usually have to wash the cap off in order to get it to close properly. What happened to the smaller cap years ago that just flipped open and closed easily without making a mess? I understand that it may be ergonomically easier to use but it needs to be redesigned so there's no mess and it the cap will close.

Excellent product, Awful tube

LOVE the toothpaste, but handling the plastic tube is like handling a water-filled balloon - it's so slick it's hard to hold onto to squeeze.
And the closeable top quickly gets messy and impossible to close completely.
Looking forward to Crest Pro-Health being sold in the plastic bottles that some of your other toothpastes are packaged in.

Review of CREST Toothpaste container
Deano
CREST toothpaste is the best on the market, but has the worst cap containment I have ever seen on a toothpaste. It will not close or stay closed and leaks all over any surface. The company should immediately redesign the closure on its toothpaste containers as it limits the purchases.

We appreciate your loyalty to Crest and I'm sorry you had trouble with leaking with the Clinical Gum Protection Toothpaste. Since it's making a mess, you may want to try using the cap as a twist off. In the meantime, we'd like to help. Please give us a call at (800) 594-4158. Thanks!

This is the best toothpaste I ever used. I smoke and drink large amounts of diet pop and can't believe how well it works. Three hours after I brush my mouth still feels minty fresh.

I've always had sensitive gums, had to have braces twice. My teeth have moved around a lot in my mouth since I was little, my gums have always bleed or been sore. I tried this product, used as instructed and it is the best thing ever! I wouldn't buy another toothpaste on the market, and I've tried many of them! Also, I have no problems with my snap cap leaking or busting open. :o) Keep those coupons coming in the paper Crest! Gotta love saving some money on the favorite products. :o)
I have bought Crest for years. I would rate the toothpaste high, but the lid discourages me from buying Crest toothpastes in the future - at least until a cap change is made. Having gone through almost a full tube with leakage problems every day, I want to suggest Crest company look at the flip top on the Rembrandt toothpastes. The cap is small just like a regular screw on, but has a little flip top, which closes with a snap and stays closed. My son buys that brand and he showed me their flip top. Please consider switching Crest back to a screw top or a small flip top like Rembrandt does. Another benefit is a smaller amount of plastic used for the lid. Our landfills need a break too.

We appreciate your years of loyalty to Crest and I'm glad you like the Crest Clinical Gum Protection Toothpaste. I'm sorry you're not happy with the cap and it's leaking everyday. Since you love this toothpaste, you may want to use the cap as a twist on. Just leaved the flip top closed and twist off cap for each use. Hope this helps!

I do not like the flip top lid because toothpaste tends to leak from the tube. I'm having to clean up toothpaste from the drawer that I store the toothpaste in. Please give me the screw on and screw off cap. Thanks!
Response from Crest:By Dee, Consumer Care , July 29, 2011
Hate to hear the Crest Toothpaste is leaking and making such a mess. We wouldn't expect the cap to leak, but you can also use this cap as a screw on to prevent further leaking. Hope this helps!

Great Product...Flip top cap is horrible.
Yolanda
I've used Crest since I started brushing my teeth, I LOVE this toothpaste. But, the flip top cap on the Pro-health toothpaste is horrible. Every time we've used it, it leaks and the very thin supports have always broken. It's a useless cap that should be replaced with the "old style" twist on, twist off caps that have worked for every other product.. Your Design team needs to rethink the flip top cap, this problem seems to be the only recurring problem with this product. Stop looking into and make the change already.

I really like the product for the after taste in your mouth and is very refreshing. The only thing that is wrong is the cap. It is a snap cap. The cap never has closed completely after each use. I have made sure that there is no product over run and it still would not close. Product would run all over unless stood up right.

I really like the Crest Pro-Health Gum Protection Clean Mint toothpaste, but do not like the "tube" that it comes in. My husband and I both had trouble with the cap continuing to fall down into the toothpaste when we put it on our brushes.

Glad to hear you like the Crest Pro-Health Gum Protection Toothpaste, but hate that you have trouble with the cap. You may try to snap the flip-cap closed and twist off the cap to dispense and then twist it back on. Hope this helps!

Filled with air and runny stuff
creteman
I've used Crest toothpaste for decades. I've reach the end. I opened a new tube of this prohealth stuff, and the first thing I got was a blast of air, the tube shrunk, became soft and mushy, and the contents actually ran out, and did not stay on my brush.
What felt like a nice new firm and fully loaded tube of toothpaste, turned out to be an air filled tube of runny gooey stuff.
Time to move on.

I'm sorry the tube of Crest Clinical Toothpaste feels like air and is soft and mushy. Our strict quality control devices should detect and reject any product or package that isn't up to our high standards. I hope we can help. Please give us a call at (800) 594-4158 . Thanks!

Toothpaste is good but the packaging is terrible. It seems that the tube is half full of air. Very little "product" for the money. I don't particularly care for the cap either. Please go back to the old packaging styles. Sometimes newer isn't better.

I just finished emailing your Customer Service regarding the issue of not being able to get the toothpast out of the Crest Pro.Health Clinical Gum Protection tube. Very frustrating! But - I started reading the reviews - most of which were commenting on this problem when I read your reply that the large cap will unscrew. Problem solved. Thanks - I love this toothpaste.

I purchased three 5.8 oz tubes of this and was very disappointed that each of them has only half a tube of toothpaste in it. The rest of the tube is filled with air. This product is very expensive and I'm quite disappointed. It's a shame because I do like the toothpaste, but I won't throw money away on air.

I agree with Jeanne. The tube is virtually unusable. I searched in vain for a contact telephone number. I have used various products with the old tube and cap for decades. I do not like the new tube, or the decreased viscosity of the product. My husband has complained for months. Now, in the last week, I have twice had to clean out and wash my drawer because so much product leaked out of the tube. I can't find a way to keep it closed. I have now wasted at least a third of the product. Poor value.

I just finished my first and last tube of Crest Pro-Health. I have always used Crest toothpaste and would not change. The tube design is very difficult to use. It is so frustrating when you still have about a quarter of a tube you have to throw it out because you cannot get it out. I also think that big plastic cap is not very "green".I'm sure a few thousand of them in a landfill will be around for many years to come. I have used other Crest the toothpaste with this same horrible cap and have always wished you labeled the box. The small cap has worked for many years. If a good thing works why replace it with something that does not work?
